Only a few days after their sold out special appearance at the Hollywood Palladium, The Chainsmokers released a new single in late July 2018. The song is called “Side Effects,” and follows the musical group’s last song “Closer” that hit the charts two years ago.
The band members of the group are Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart. Their special show, had Pepsi as a partner and as a sponsor, took place on July 24. The Chainsmokers usually play to larger crowds in big venues. At this event, their CA friends made up a good portion of the crowd, and the band enjoyed the more intimate experience. They do not get a chance to play many live shows in the area. The next scheduled event for the band would take place in Atlantic City. The debut of their new song occurred at that venue on July 28th. They also appeared with musical talent and band collaborator Emily Warren during the Summer Concert.
The Chainsmokers band was formed in 2012, Alex Pall had been a DJ when he was younger. Alex attended New York University. He studied art history and music. Drew Taggart attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. It has been noted that their newest single,”Side Effects,” has a more mature sound to it as compared to their previous sounds. The duo concur that they are writing about observations they make in themselves, in other millennials, in relationships, and in life.
In a recent Billboard interview, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart commented about where they foresee the band’s direction will be over the next several years. The two band members are happy with what they are now doing. The team enjoys writing music, and they are writing and playing music they like. They also enjoy the DJing jobs they get. Alex and Drew love the live shows and the traveling. The duo also likes that Emily Warren is a part of it all. The Chainsmokers want to keep doing what they do best, and that is making music.
